ClickFunnels pricing explained: what $97 buys, why the contact cap moves you up, and the annual-only tier nobody mentions

A plain reading of ClickFunnels' four plans, the contact counts that force each upgrade, what the 14-day trial actually commits you to, and the cases where the same $97 belongs somewhere else.

Updated 2026-09-24

ClickFunnels prices itself as a premium funnel builder and largely delivers on that, but the tier you end up on is decided by something most buyers do not think about when they sign up: how many contacts sit in the account. This is a plain reading of the four plans, verified on 2026-09-09.

The four plans

Launch is $97 a month, or $81 a month on annual billing. Unlimited funnels, 1 workspace, 2 team members, 10,000 contacts, 5 custom domains.

Scale is $197 a month, or $164 annual. 5 workspaces, 5 team members, 75,000 contacts, unlimited domains.

Optimize is $297 a month, or $248 annual. 10 workspaces, 10 team members, 150,000 contacts, unlimited domains.

Dominate is $5,997 a year and annual only — about $499.75 a month, with no monthly option at all. 20 workspaces, 20 team members, 400,000 contacts.

There is no free plan. There is a 14-day free trial followed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, which together give you about six weeks to decide, but you do put a card down on day one.

What actually moves you up a tier

Not funnels — those are unlimited from $97. Not features, which are broadly the same across the first three tiers. It is contacts and workspaces.

Contacts are the one that surprises people. Every lead you collect counts, including the ones who never open an email again. A business running paid traffic into a lead magnet can add tens of thousands of contacts in a year without a corresponding rise in revenue, and the 10,000 cap on Launch arrives quietly. When it does, the bill doubles to $197, and nothing about what you can build has changed.

The defence is list hygiene: delete or suppress people who have not opened anything in a year before the cap forces a $100-a-month decision. Almost nobody does this, which is part of why the pricing works the way it does.

Workspaces are the other lever, and they are really an agency feature. One business needs one. If you are running funnels for clients, the workspace count is your tier, in the same way sub-accounts decide the tier at GoHighLevel.

What $97 actually buys

A genuinely good funnel builder with the best template library in the category, plus email, a CRM, course hosting, a checkout and analytics. For a business whose revenue comes from launches and paid traffic, that bundle is coherent and the editor is the reason to pay.

What it does not buy is a website. The site and blog capabilities are secondary to funnels, and treating ClickFunnels as your main web presence is a way to be unhappy with something you are paying $97 a month for.

Where the same $97 belongs somewhere else

You are a solo creator selling a course. Systeme.io puts funnels, email, a course area and a checkout on a free plan with 2,000 contacts, and its paid tier is $17. That is a fifth to a sixth of the price for a similar feature list, with a weaker editor. If design is not the offer, the maths is hard to argue with: Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels.

You need texting and a pipeline more than funnels. GoHighLevel is the same $97 and spends it on SMS, calendars, reputation and a CRM built for local service businesses. ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel marks the line.

You have no offer yet. The 14-day trial starts whether or not you have something to sell. Write the offer first; the software is the easy part and the clock is not.

The short version

$97 buys unlimited funnels and the best editor in the category, for one business with up to 10,000 contacts. Every upgrade above that is contacts and workspaces, not capability, so clean your list before it makes the decision for you. Pay annually only after the trial and the guarantee window have both passed and you know you are staying. And if the offer is a single course, look hard at the $17 alternative before committing $1,164 a year.
