Advertising disclosure
SortMyStack is free to use. We make money when you click a link to a software company and later buy from them, through affiliate programs run by those companies or their networks. The commission comes out of the vendor's margin. It does not change the price you pay.
Which links are affiliate links
Every “Try” button goes through a link on our own domain (it starts with /go/) so that we can count clicks. When we have an approved affiliate relationship with a company, that link carries a tracking code. When we do not, it goes straight to the vendor and we earn nothing.
As of today we have no approved affiliate relationships live. We are applying to programs run by the companies we review. Until an application is approved, links go straight to the vendor and we earn nothing from them.
What commissions do not change
- Ratings. Each tool is rated on the criteria published on our how we rate page, and the rating is recorded with a date before any affiliate status is considered.
- Ranking order in best-of guides and finder results. The finder is deterministic and its rules are stored as data that does not reference commissions.
- Whether we say a tool is not right for you. Every profile has a “not ideal for” section and every comparison has a “choose the other one if” section.
What we will not do
- Claim a commission rate, price or feature we have not verified against the vendor's own page. Each pricing table shows its verification date and source.
- Publish reviews or testimonials we did not write. We do not display user ratings from other sites.
- Hide a cheaper or free option that fits the same need.
